Meet Trevor.

Trevor at The Shipyards District in North Vancouver.

Trevor grew up in the Tri-Cities, spent a portion of his life on Vancouver Island, but eventually made the move to the North Shore to be with his girlfriend, now wife. Fifteen years later, he still calls this place home and is where he’s chosen to raise his family and pursue his career.

After studying forensics at BCIT, Trevor aspired to work as a crime analyst and had his sights set on working for the RCMP detachment here in North Van. In 2014, he accomplished just that. Serving his community through public safety, this rewarding career brought on a genuine sense of achievement and gratification.

Intimately involved with a multitude of investigations, he learned of every tragic detail that accompanied each case - it was simply the nature of the job. With over a decade dedicated to the role, he began to recognize an impact it was having on his mental health. This realization happened to also coincide with a rediscovery of an old hobby.

Trevor dusted off his previously retired camera and started capturing photos again. This rekindled his love for photography and he even began making regular trips to the library to read up on the craft.

Now focussing on his personal wellbeing, Trevor is currently taking time away from his job with the RCMP and has credited his healing thus far to the therapy of creating art in nature. When you live on the shore, it’s not hard to be among the trees or a body of water, and Trevor has truly taken full advantage.

As the talented abstract photographer that he now is, he continues to create art in and around the local area. He describes his approach to the craft as using his camera as a paint brush - and if you’ve seen his work, I’d argue there is no better way to describe it. An established artist, his work has become admired by many right here on the shore and beyond.
